Improvements
at the Mill
7th October 2010
At the continued AGM last night in Johnshaven Village Hall a
large turnout of members successfully managed to exercise their
voting rights to elect a number of new members to the Board. This
expands the size of the active Board membership substantially, and
it is hoped, will bring new energy, skills and experience to the
trust.
In addition, lines of communication were established, within the
whole group of members, and preliminary dates set up for a grand
social event! More news and event updates will follow soon.
Neos Event achieves the busiest day of the year at
Benholm!
Saturday last, 18th September 2010, proved to be the busiest day
in recent history with over 90 visitors attending the exhibits of
the paintings by Paul Hurst and local photographers and artists.
The tearoom staff proved to be mightily over-worked trying to keep
up with the demands of the hungry for soup, sandwiches and fresh
baking.
A selection of Paul Hurst's paintings can still be seen on the
website on the NEOS page and on the artshows page.
EGM was held on Wednesday, 6th October at 7pm in Johnshaven
Village Hall.
Following the recent AGM, an EGM was called in order to
clarify membership issues and to elect the new board. All members
and all those interested in becoming a member of the Mill Trust
were asked to attend.
AGM: Tuesday the 7th of September
Our 2010 AGM took place on Tuesday the 7th of September.
British Heart Foundation Cycle
Ride
The Mill of Benholm are proud to be hosting the DC
Thompson/British Heart Foundation Cycle Ride from
Dundee to Aberdeen on Saturday
the 24th of July.
"Volunteers are urgently needed to help in the running of the
Mill of Benholm."
That was the message which came over loud and clear from a power
point presentation given by Mike Burleigh, Project Manager at the
Mill, to the monthly meeting of the Community Council in the
Village Hall on Wednesday night.
Work to start on Woodland Walk
The latest initiative at the Benholm Mill is the recreation of
the ancient woodland walks bordering the property.

In the (all-pervading) interests of HS&E, it will be
necessary to undertake considerable work on the paths and walkways
in the old Benholm woods before recommending them to the public.
However, plans are firmly afoot, and it is hoped that work will
commence this summer!
New Signs Erected

Our sign board was made for us by a friend of Benholm and
although easily seen from the A92 we plan to reposition the
new sign this summer. Thanks to the sterling efforts of our group
of trainees, and our carpentry volunteer, a full set of beautiful
wooden signs have been erected throught the Mill grounds. Well done
to all involved!
